Chin Cheng Lin is recognized worldwide as an exceptionally gifted artist, reflected in numerous awards and the effusive reviews he has received for both his live performances and recordings, including European Soloist Champion Award in 2007, and Outstanding Culture Award by the Taipei Representative Office in Belgium. Lin is also lauded for his imaginative interpretations of the marimba repertoire. In December 2011 Centaur Records will release Lin’s recording of Six cello suites of J.S. Bach, and a recording of own compositions to showcase both his musicality and also his passion for the composer’s work. As a chamber musician, Lin often plays with marimbist Ludwig Albert and soprano Katrine Druyts. They have recorded two albums: The Wave, a tribute to marimba pioneer Keiko Abe and Ardor, which includes Spanish and Mexican songs. As a young composer, Lin has written more than 50 works for marimba.
