Sam Lunt – Artist and Executive Director
Sam Lunt, who lives in Santa Fe, NM, studied with Gordon Stout at Ithaca College where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree. He has played percussion and marimba with local bands and has performed with the Orchestra of Santa Fe, Santa Fe Pro Musica and the Desert Chorale. He worked closely with, then, local composer Jamie Allen and has been an artist in residence for the Santa Fe Opera outreach program. He has also played at Bruce Dunlap’s venue for local musicians GIG.
He recorded his first collection of solo marimba compositions in 2000 at the Saint Francis Auditorium in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He released another CD of solo marimba compositions in 2008. He continues to perform locally and regionally and is steadily gaining recognition for his solo marimba and vibraphone compositions.
